Snowshoeing Trip Activity Levels

Most snowshoeing trails are between 1,500 and 2,700 meters / 5,000 and 9,000 feet of elevation.  Easier snowshoeing trips will stay at lower elevations or use chairlifts to reach higher elevations, but then see little or no elevation change, while more difficult trips will increasingly see steeper ascents and descents included in the itinerary.

EASY
Our easy trips are perfect for people who want to see the Dolomites at a relaxed pace, are more interested in the flora and fauna and the cultural and historical aspects of the region, and for families with small children. Snowshoe hikes range from 1 to 3 hours and average 3-6 kilometers / 2-4 miles per day. Terrain is usually relatively flat with little elevation gain (up to 150 meters / 500 feet), on well-broken trails in the snow that often follow the path of the dirt roads that lie beneath. The pace is leisurely, with stops along the way at historic sites and villages. On most days, hiking activities are optional, and there are options for transfers via private or public transportation.
