Hiking the Alta Via n.1 of the Dolomites - Part I

Anna.

This was a dream come true for us to be able to do this trip. It was definitely very challenging and we were ready to quit when we finished the last day - 5 days seemed to a perfect length for us. The trails were well marked and took us through a  wide variety of terrain, all of which was beautiful. The refugios were lovely, much more modern than we expected. We met a number of people on the trail and at the refugios. The night we were at Scotoni, it snowed. The next morning as we climbed out of there on the way to Lagazuoi the snow got deeper and deeper. Fortunately we met a group coming down and were able to follow their steps to the top.  Given the conditions we chose to ride the tram down. Later that day we chose to use the chair lift to the Cinque Torri. All of the refugios were lovely, but Avereau  was probably our favorite. We appreciated the help you provided in reserving accommodations and helping us get to and from the trailhead. All of that help make the trip that much more enjoyable. Thank you!!

Because of our aging bodies and desire to see some other beautiful places we are not likely to return, but we will speak highly of your services and the memories will always be there as well.

Thanks so much!!
