Luxury Romantic Dream Escape to the Dolomites: Alta Badia & Alpe di Siusi, Oct 2016

Thanks so much for the trip, it was our favorite trip we have taken yet.  The dolomites are spectacular and we can't wait to go back, maybe for a ski touring trip in the winter.  It was really well organized and we felt well taken care of from the minute we checked into the hotel and found our buffs and annotated maps waiting for us.

Reviewing specific parts of the trip -

-We thought Andreas was a really excellent guide, he was very personable and professional.  While he was casual and fun on the via ferrata we could tell he was extremely capable and serious about safety, so we felt safe and enjoyed it.  He also took some great photos!
-The day hikes you picked out for us were perfect.  They were surprisingly challenging, we find that companies are usually very conservative on what they are willing to recommend we do in a day because they don't want to risk overdoing it, but the length of the hikes you sent us on were the perfect length where by the end of the day we were both exhausted and happy - and we loved the rifugios where we had lunch both times.
-Hotel Fanes was wonderful - beautiful rooms and facilities and great food.
-Hotel Diana we thought was a significant downgrade from Hotel Fanes, in terms of facilities and food.  Service was still excellent and very friendly. It's hard to judge relative value because we didn't know the cost of each, but if they were similar cost we thought Fanes was much better.
-We loved the Rifugio we stayed in and we had a great night there, but if it were possible we would have rather gone somewhere a little more remote, only because it would have been nicer to end a long hike at a place that doesn't have a parking lot!
