Mountain Romance – Hike & Via Ferrata Luxury Escape

Enjoy a week of romance and luxury as you hike, climb via ferrata, and enjoy rifugio stays in the Dolomites! Each day is an opportunity for active adventures with your partner.

Trip Overview

Celebrating an anniversary? Second honeymoon? Or just looking for romance? Then we have just the trip for you!
Crowning Italy's northern border, the Dolomites are a pristine alpine playground, where vivid green meadows nestle against enormous limestone peaks. Hiking trails wind between massive peaks offering new vistas at every turn. Ascending a via ferrata provides a vertical adrenaline rush, combined with panoramas usually reserved for mountaineers. Charming rifugios (mountain huts) welcome hikers with satisfying strudel and local specialties. Evenings are filled with a delightful mixture of Italian, Austrian, and Ladin cultures, where you can dine on distinctive culinary specialties, and savor fine Italian wines.
On this incredible itinerary, you will see the best that the Dolomites has to offer, including the marvelous rock walls of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo – magnificent sheer faces that turn from pastel pinks and all but flame red towards sundown – and the majestic Sella Massif. You’ll experience trails that crisscross these mountains and valleys, offering endless paths for exploration. You’ll stay in mountain rifugios that not only afford noon-time meals, but provide opportunities for a comfortable hut-to-hut traverse of these majestic mountains. And you’ll learn to climb the world famous via ferratas (“iron paths”) of the Dolomites, which offer non-climbers an easier approach to the mountains on well protected itineraries with wire cables for safety, and iron rods and steps fixed to the rock for surefootedness. And in four- and five-star accommodations, why not treat yourself to a relaxing massage at the hotel at the end of the day or a tantalizing meal and bottle of wine in the evening?

Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugi?
Rifugi – or mountain huts in English – are the classic accommodation for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugi are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.

The Dolomite rifugi are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
