Ski Safari: Essence of the Dolomites GROUP DEPARTURE

The Dolomites have so many fantastic places to ski, but how do you choose? You don’t have to! Join us and ski Cortina, Civetta, San Pellegrino, Alta Badia, and Kronplatz, enjoying legendary Olympic terrain, tree skiing, wide-open sunny slopes, historic World Cup pistes, and magnificent vistas as you move from resort-to-resort through the Dolomites – all on one great trip!

With so many fantastic resort areas to ski in the Dolomites, how can you possibly choose just one? You don’t have to! On this ski safari, you’ll enjoy legendary Olympic terrain in Cortina d’Ampezzo, uncrowded tree skiing at Civetta, wide-open sunny slopes in San Pellegrino, a ski tour around the Sella Massif, historic World Cup slopes in Alta Badia, and magnificent, never ending vistas from Kronplatz!

Start at the Cortina d'Ampezzo ski resort, exploring its 140 kilometers (87 miles) of slopes and 42 lifts. Cortina is famous for hosting the first ever televised Winter Olympics in 1956, countless World Cup Skiing races, and co-hosting the 2026 Winter Games with Milan. Plus, it’s impossible to miss its chic, stylish atmosphere! Next head to the Civetta Ski Area, which boasts 80 kilometers (49.7 miles) of slopes serviced by 23 lifts, with terrain for skiers of all levels. The valleys of Alleghe, Selva di Cadore, Zoldo, and Palafavera of Monte Civetta are not only surrounded by exquisite peaks and unspoiled views, but are also rich in history and tradition, providing a unique ski holiday experience.

The San Pellegrino ski area is your next destination, a stunning location with more than 60 kilometers (37 miles) of slopes and 26 state-of-the-art lifts – truly a paradise for skiers! You can even hop over to the adjacent Alpe Lusia if you need more terrain to explore! Among the many highlights of this trip is the famous Sellaronda ski tour – one of the most sensational ski tours in the world. Known as a "merry-go-round" for intermediate skiers, it circumnavigates the Sella Massif leveraging a vast connection of lifts and runs, showcasing the stunning variety of landscapes in the Dolomites. Hope off the Sellaronda in Alta Badia, with its 130 kilometers (81 miles) of pistes and more than 50 lifts, where you can test your mettle on World Cup pistes.

Finally, you'll visit Plan de Corones / Kronplatz, a sensational destination offering 105 kilometers (65 miles) of runs and over 30 lifts. Situated along the south side of the Pusteria Valley, it provides breathtaking 360-degree panoramas, including dramatic views of the Zillertal Alps to the north and the Lienz Dolomites to the east in Austria, and promises a premium ski experience with terrain suitable for all levels.

After each action-packed day of skiing, you’ll relax and unwind in superior hotels and a traditional rifugio, savoring the culture and cuisine unique to the Dolomites. Skiing across so many regions with so much different terrain never sounded like so much fun! Join us!

Please note: It is important to us that you get the most out of your Dolomite Mountains trip! Our ski safaris require a minimum ability of intermediate to advanced skiing.

From the chic town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, a popular destination for the rich and famous, to the quiet and discreet luxury of San Cassiano in Alta Badia, you will find accommodations with credentials ranging from membership in the exclusive Relais & Châteaux to The Leading Hotels of the World!

Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugios?
Rifugios - or mountain inns in English -– are the classic accommodations for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugios are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.
The Dolomite rifugios are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
