Trip Overview
The Dolomites are widely regarded as one of the most attractive mountain landscapes in the world, and in 2009, the World Heritage Committee officially designated the Dolomite Mountains as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Comprising over 90,000 acres of mountainous terrain, these mountains are a unique corner of the Alps, featuring distinctive geology and a fascinating blend of cultures. On this fantastic trip, you’ll discover why for yourself!
Truly a hiker's paradise, thousands of trails wind their way between the fantastic pinnacles of these jagged mountains, which magically turn from pale gray to gold and pink at dusk. Wild alpine meadows, deciduous and evergreen woods, high altitude lunar-like terrain, soaring peaks, and dramatic walls and towering heights, will all be uniquely visible to you each morning as you enjoy a private helicopter flight to the start point of your hike each day. There truly is no better way to get your first taste of these mountains than from the air!
You will also have plenty of time to experience the unique culture and cuisine of this region. Italian and Austrian cultures, with an intricate history resulting from the World War I conflict, combine with the native Ladin culture and its well-preserved Rhaeto-Romansch language. These are woven together through customs, crafts, language, food, and drink like no other area in the world. Your time here is sure to be filled with warm hospitality, incredible meals, and fascinating cultural experiences! Add to this luxury accommodations to come home to each evening after you explore the incredible mountain terrain, and you have an incredibly exhilarating yet relaxing adventure all in one amazing trip!
