Dolomites Off-Piste Skiing Safari

Off-Piste Dolomites Ski Safari Traverse

Discover lift-service off-piste skiing in the Dolomites! Ski some of the Dolomites most famous off-piste descents by day, and enjoy the warm hospitality of charming mountain rifugi (7 days trip only), all the while taking in incredible vistas and marvelous cuisine!

Trip Overview

Fantastic off-piste skiing, lift service, and fine Italian dining – now that’s our idea of a great winter vacation! Each day you'll set out with your guide to ski the best snow and off-piste terrain – some of the finest off-piste skiing in the world. Powder, spring snow, breakable crust, and crud... we ski them and love them all!
On this freeride itinerary, you’ll ski three areas of the Dolomites known for their fantastic off-piste – Alta Badia, including the Val Mezdì and Sass Pordoi; Arabba, at the foot of the Sella Massif; and Cortina d’Ampezzo, famous not only for hosting the 1956 Winter Olympics but for its phenomenal Lagazuoi couloirs. As you enjoy four days of skiing, you’ll explore many of the lines and couloirs here that have become the stuff of legends. Lucky for us, much of this terrain is accessible just a short hike or skin from the top of the lifts, making this a great trip for skiers who want to track their vertical and maximize their turns. You’ll use a combination of lifts, gondolas, skinning, and boot packing to reach some of the most incredible terrains Dolomite Mountains have to offer!
Each day you will have the opportunity to ski different off-piste areas. This Dolomites Ski Safari also provides you with the opportunity to explore the Ladin valleys of the Dolomites and their people, as well as discover their traditions and history, and explore the excellent culture and cuisine. Experience one overnight in rifugi (7-day trip only) – charming mountain inns with simply the best access to the slopes (you’ll ski right out the door each morning!), breathtaking vistas, and incredible cuisine. So what are you waiting for!?

Please note: It is important to us that you get the most out of your Dolomite Mountains trip! Our ski safaris require a minimum ability of intermediate to advanced skiing.

Hotels and chalets are available in the larger villages, while agriturismos (working farms with accommodations similar to B&Bs) are more common in rural areas. Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugi?
Rifugi – or mountain huts in English – are the classic accommodation for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugi are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.

The Dolomite rifugi are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
