Riva del Garda is a popular destination on Lake Garda and located in the most dramatic part of the Lake, the northern side, with mountain rising on either side or vertical cliffs. After Desenzano, Riva is the second largest town on the shores of the lake but it has a very different atmosphere, lively and outdoorsy. A pleasant base where tourists can stroll along winding streets and relax in waterfront squares.

But Riva isn't just about tourism - it was an important strategic point at the juncture of the Alps and the Italian plains for many centuries. Today Riva is still one of the most popular resorts on Lake Garda along with its neighboring towns of Torbole to the east and Arco to the north, especially loved by windsurfers, kitesurfers and rock climbers. Riva boasts superb scenery, elegant parks and a long lakeside promenade, the perfect starting point to explore Lake Garda.

Next you’ll check-out the ferrata equipment you will use for your exciting day climbing via ferrata. Before departing this morning, your guide will give you a lesson on via ferrata climbing technique, equipment use, and safety.
When you’re ready to go, transfer from Riva to Biacesa (402m / 1,319'), in the Val di Ledro on the east side of Lake Garda (20 minutes). Via Ferrata Cima Capi is a great ferrata with wonderful views. At times, the trail is fairly exposed, offering increasingly breathtaking vistas of Lake Garda, the Sarca Valley, and the vertical walls below. Once you reach the summit, the pointy pinnacle of Cima Capi (909m / 2,982'), you cross the old walkways, fortifications, and tunnels built during the First World War.
(~5 hours including 2 hours ascending a moderate via ferrata. Total 8,9 km / 5,35 miles, 890 / 2,919’ ascent, 813 / 2,666’ descent).
There are many via ferratas and climbing options to choose from in the Lake Garda / Arco di Trento area. You will select from these with the recommendations of your guide, based on the weather forecast and fitness levels, abilities, and interests of each participant.

In the morning, meet your local English-speaking Bike Guide and collect your Mountain Bikes. Today’s bike ride represents the perfect opportunity to discover the Sarca Valley and its best-kept jewels as you ride through olive groves, apple plantations, vineyards, and charming towns. En route, you will visit the Marocche di Dro, one of the most unique landscapes in this entire Alpine area. It is a huge stretch of boulders (187 million cubic meters / 3.5 billion cubic feet of rock) that fell from the Brento and Casale mountains as a result of glacial activity, and likely that Lake Cavedine was formed during those landslides as well. Reach Lake Cave-in, where you have the option to swim or to paddle, or to simply enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar.As you make your way back along the opposite side of the Sarca Valley, you cannot miss a visit to the charming town of Arco, with its Austrian-influenced colorful buildings and a wide selection of gelaterias for an afternoon treat of tasty gelato!

In the morning take a transfer to Val di Ledro, set to the east of Lake Garda. Meet your local English speaking UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide who will provide the equipment necessary, wetsuit, harness and safety instructions. For the next two hours, you’ll descend through an absolute wonderland at one of two rivers located in the area, Pelvico and Rio Nero. Your guide will select the most suitable according to daily conditions and water levers. You’ll explore the adrenaline rush that canyoning can provide as you hike, slide, and swim your way through the crystal clear water of the canyon, undoutely a thrilling experience!

The Rio Nero and Pelvico are rivers carved into steep canyons surrounded by high & vertical cliffs. Over centuries, the rivers have sculpted a fairy tale landscape of caves, grottos, and spectacular rock formations.
Upon completion of this exciting excursion you have the option to relax at one of the four beaches at Lake Ledro (655m / 2,149') and go for a swim. This picturesque alpine lake is situated in the Val di Ledro (Ledro Valley), between Lake Garda and Lake Idro. Return transfer to your hotel.
