Dolomites to Lake Garda Gourmet Hike & Bike

Arrival in Canazei (1,465m / 4,806’) on your own (private transfer available on request). Canazei is a mountain village belonging to the province of Trento and placed in a fascinating natural valley in the most northern area of the wonderful Val di Fassa. It is surrounded by magnificent Dolomites peaks: Colac, Marmolada, Gruppo del Sella and Col Rodella.

In the morning, meet your local English-speaking Bike Guide and venture out on an unforgettable adventure with an E-bike tour around Val di Fassa, a valley of unparalleled beauty that spans over 20 kilometers (12 miles) and is surrounded by some of the Dolomites' most iconic peaks, Roda di Vael, Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Sella group, Pordoi, and Monzoni, over which Marmolada towers. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the flower-filled pastures and the Catinaccio Mountain range while savoring traditional dishes bursting with flavor.

In the morning take a private transfer to Passo Sella (2,180m / 7,152'), then hike under Sassolungo and Sassopiatto on the famous Friedrich-August-Weg. Following ancient shepherd routes, spectacular views take you to Rifugio Sassopiatto (2,300 / 7,546'), Rifugio Vicenza (2,253m / 7,391'), and Rifugio Comici (2,153m / 7,063'). This loop hike continues through an unearthly landscape of tumbled boulders—Città dei Sassi (“city of stones”) — arriving back at Rifugio Passo Sella for your transfer back to your hotel.

In the morning, take a private transfer to Riva del Garda.
Riva del Garda is a popular destination on Lake Garda and located in the most dramatic part of the Lake, the northern side, with mountains rising on either side or vertical cliffs. After Desenzano, Riva is the second largest town on the shores of the lake but it has a very different atmosphere, lively and outdoorsy. A pleasant base where tourists can stroll along winding streets and relax in waterfront squares.

The Ponale Trail is the best known and most popular hike in the area of Riva del Garda: easy but at the same time spectacular as it winds steeply above the lake, a classic trek you can't afford to miss.
The line of the Old Ponale Road stands out against the mountainside, and you can see it clearly from the beaches in Riva and Torbole. The road is famous for the unequaled panorama of the lake and the military installations you can see along the trail. When you come to the second and third tunnels, you can see remains of the Tagliata del Ponale, imposing fortifications built by the Austro-Hungarians from 1860 onwards, consisting of tunnels excavated into the rock and trenches stretching from lake level to the outposts overlooking the current trail. Today the Tagliata complex is usually closed to the public for safety reasons.

In the morning, meet your local English-speaking Bike Guide and collect your E-Bikes. Today’s bike ride represents the perfect opportunity to discover the Sarca Valley and its best-kept jewels as you ride through olive groves, apple plantations, vineyards, and charming towns. En route, you will visit the Marocche di Dro, one of the most unique landscapes in this entire Alpine area. It is a huge stretch of boulders (187 million cubic meters / 3.5 billion cubic feet of rock) that fell from the Brento and Casale mountains as a result of glacial activity, and likely that Lake Cavedine was formed during those landslides as well. Continue your ride along the eastern shore of Lake Cavedine, and visit a local winery where you’ll sample delicious organic white and red wines, accompanied by a selection of cured hams and local cheeses.  As you make your way back along the opposite side of the Sarca Valley, you cannot miss a visit to the charming town of Arco, with its Austrian-influenced colorful buildings and a wide selection of gelaterias for an afternoon treat of tasty gelato!
