Trip Overview
Your journey begins in Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol, where medieval lanes, café culture, and the famous Iceman Museum set the tone for an in-depth, cultural adventure. After a scenic transfer to Salorno, your first cycling day follows the Strada del Vino north through Magrè, Cortaccia, and up to Favogna before descending into the Adige Valley and returning to Bolzano.
From San Genesio, ride through meadows and forests past Avigna, Meltina, and Avelengo to reach the renowned spa town of Merano. Then hop aboard a panoramic train to Malles and cycle along the Val Venosta trail past Lake Resia, through apple orchards and the Moarhof farm in Castelbello, finishing in Merano.
The next leg follows the Valle Isarco north, ascending from Ponte Gardena to Barbiano, Villandro, and Velturno, with a scenic lunch stop in Chiusa before reaching the Baroque beauty of Bressanone.
Your final ride follows the Puster Valley cycle path, climbing the sunny slopes past Vandoies di Sotto and Terento, before arriving in Brunico. You also have the option to tackle the exhilarating ascent to Passo delle Erbe and descend via Baita Cir.
