Sardinia

The Ultimate Sardinia Selvaggio Blu Trek Adventure

Spend seven days on Sardinia's Selvaggio Blu, Italy's most challenging trek, hiking the Gulf of Orosei's limestone coast from Santa Maria Navarrese to Cala Sisine. Swim in secluded coves beneath Cala Goloritzè, tackle guided via ferrata and rope descents, and share Sardinian flavors and shepherds' traditions while camping beneath the stars.

Trip Overview

The Selvaggio Blu is often described as one of Europe’s most challenging and beautiful treks. This seven-day guided journey begins in Santa Maria Navarrese and follows the coast to Cala Sisine, mixing hiking days with swims, exposed passages, a via ferrata, and rope descents. Over the course of a week, you’ll follow ancient shepherds’ paths and hidden mule tracks where limestone cliffs drop dramatically into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.

After a night in a seaside hotel and a guide briefing, you'll set out on foot toward Punta Giradili. A swim in the crystal-clear sea breaks up your first day before a climb leads to a shepherd's camp and a generous Sardinian dinner. You'll follow an old mule track down toward Portu Pedrosu, then climb to a camp near Punta Salinas above the Gulf of Orosei. From there, you'll look out over Cala Goloritzè, descend to the cove for lunch and a swim, and take on your first via ferrata before camping at Su Porteddu. The route then grows more technical as exposed shepherds' paths lead to Mudaloru, followed by roped passages and abseils on the way to Ololbissi. On the final hiking day, you'll descend ropes up to 45m / 148', cross holm oak woods, and reach Cala Sisine for a well-earned celebratory dip, before a private boat returns you to Santa Maria Navarrese the following morning.

Each night brings a different perspective on the coast: one night in a hand-picked hotel and five in tented camps, with meals built around fresh Sardinian ingredients and shared stories of legend and tradition. The route suits a small group or an active family whose members are prepared for its exposure and rope work; ask our team about the right fit. Ready to trade the ordinary coast for Cala Goloritzè, shepherds' trails, and nights beneath Sardinia's sky? This journey will leave you with memories as wild and untamed as Sardinia itself.
