Hiking from Cortina to Alta Badia, June 2017

Jim and I got back from Italy on Friday night. We really enjoyed it. Especially the stays at the refugios. The first one was incredible. Felt like we were on top of the world. The mountain treated us to a dramatic thunderstorm in the evening, complete with large hailstones! Thankfully we were warm and comfortable finishing up our dinner when it happened, but it gave us an appreciation for the power of nature. Then second rifugio was a luxury with it's spacious, modern rooms. The meals everywhere were delicious. And the staff all friendly and helpful. The hikes gave us a nice variety of terrain and scenery - absolutely beautiful. They were challenging but not overwhelming. Just right. We will definitely recommend Dolomite Mountains to our friends, and hope to visit again ourselves some day. Thank you, and thanks to Christina who gave us some good advice about our hikes.
