Alessandro Meridio

If you’ve ever wondered who is responsible for the perfectly rolled canederli served at 3,000 meters, look no further than Alessandro. Before joining our team as a guide, Alessandro spent five incredible summer seasons living and working in a high-altitude refuge in the Valfurva valley. This wasn’t just a job; it was a masterclass in mountain hospitality where he “cooked millions” of traditional dumplings and learned exactly what a hiker needs after a long day on the trail: a warm welcome and a deep connection to the land. When he isn’t in the kitchen or sharing his favorite local dish (canederli over a bed of cabbage, naturally), Alessandro is likely out-pacing everyone on the peaks. A graduate of Natural Sciences from the University of Padova, he views the Dolomites through a unique lens, blending his scientific knowledge of the environment with a fierce passion for its preservation. He is a true endurance athlete—whether he’s cycling the Maratona dles Dolomites or training for his upcoming 100-kilometer trail race, Alessandro’s energy is infectious. While he calls the Veneto region home, his heart lies in the “wilder” corners of the mountains, like the rugged Marmarole circuit or the technical ledges of the Cengia Paolina. His travels have taken him across Europe and to the volcanic trails of Tenerife, and he’s currently dreaming of exploring the vast, intact wilderness of the Northwestern United States. Fluent in English and Italian (and currently mastering Spanish!), Alessandro’s ultimate goal is to help guests find that “pure” mountain moment where the stress of the world simply fades away.
