Visit Passo Fedaia

Passo Fedaia, the Fedaia Pass, is almost overshadowed by the nearby two-kilometer-long (1.25-mile) Lago Fedaia at the foot of the magnificent Marmolada Glacier. Known as the Queen of the Dolomites, the glacier is one of the most popular destinations in the Dolomites for skiers, riders and mountaineers.  History lovers enjoy the Marmolada’s sordid past, still evident throughout the area, where a 12-kilometer-long (7.5-mile) tunnel carved into the glacier once served as a shelter to weary soldiers. Nearly 700 rests from WWI can still be seen in the Museo della Grande Guerra, a private war museum.

From the pass and across the Fedaia Lake, you can catch the Pian dei Fiacconi cabin lift to the upstream station where incredible views of the Val di Fassa and the surrounding Dolomites abound. There are plenty of walking, hiking, cycling, and climbing activities to enjoy in the area. Passo Fedaia is also a paradise for off-piste skiing enthusiasts and for mountaineers.
