Visit Valparola Pass
The majestic high mountain pass of Valparola is located in the Italian province of Belluno. It serves as the divide between the watersheds of the Piave, which flows toward the east and the Adige, which flows westward eventually merging with the Adriatic Sea. It is a picturesque area filled with awe-inspiring views and spectacular photo opportunities.
The Valparola Pass is also an area rich with history. Before the First World War, only one trail existed over the pass, during which time the area was the subject of several battles. There is a now a museum there that was built from a remaining WWI fort. The pass’s intriguing and fascinating past coupled with the ample opportunities for outdoor activities makes it a great place to visit in the Dolomites.
