Via Ferrata & Hiking Experience at Lake Garda

Arrive in Riva del Garda at your leisure (private transfer available on request). Set on the dramatic northern shores of Lake Garda, Riva is the second-largest town on the lake after Desenzano, but it carries a very different energy: lively, outdoorsy, and unmistakably Alpine. Mountains rise on either side, vertical cliffs drop to the water, and the town hums with windsurfers, climbers, and promenade strollers.
The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace. Wander the winding old streets, relax in waterfront squares, or visit the Rocca fortress and Apponale Tower for views across the lake. Riva's long lakeside promenade, elegant parks, and superb mountain scenery make it the perfect base to discover Lake Garda.

In the morning, meet your local English speaking Professional UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide for a trip briefing and orientation, and to check-out the ferrata equipment you will use for your exciting days climbing via ferrata. Before departing this morning, your guide will give you a lesson on via ferrata climbing technique, equipment use, and safety.
There are many via ferratas and climbing options to choose from in the Lake Garda / Arco di Trento area. Your guide will select the most suitable Via Ferrata, based on the weather forecast and fitness levels, abilities, and interests of each participant.

Today’s moderate to challenging hike takes you on a fascinating journey across nature and history, for it combines hiking and WW1 history, along with breath-taking and unforgettable views of Lake Garda to the south and Lake Ledro to the north.
Not only this ridge path runs along the WW1 Italian front line that faced the Austrian line, but it also offers no shortage of breath-taking 360 degree views!
The highlight of this rewarding hike is undoubtedly a dramatic ragged peak and an extraordinary lookout point, located on a prominent position above Lake Garda. The views from the peak sweep eastwards across the lake toward the town of Malcesine and the Monte Baldo mountain range, and southwards toward the towns of Sirmione, Salò and Garda.
The route consists in numerous sections of exposed path, at times unprotected, yet the favorable exposure to sunlight makes it the perfect excursion throughout the summer months and into fall.

Option to complete an easier loop, avoiding the challenging ridge section.

In the evening, at 6 pm, take a private transfer to a local producer, enjoy a guided tour and a tasting of balsamic vinegar & olive oil, followed by dinner at the venue's restaurant.

Today, you will discover two precious hidden gems nestled northwest of Riva del Garda. Lake Tenno, with its perfectly round shape and clear turquoise water, offers a dramatic contrast to Lake Garda: it is reachable only on foot, with no buildings on the shoreline. Nearby is the picturesque medieval hamlet of Canale di Tenno, known both as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy and one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.

In the evening, take a private transfer to a local wine & olive oil producer and enjoy a wine tasting, followed by a tour of the oil mill and wine cellar. Complete the experience with a delicious 3-course dinner. Return to your hotel by private transfer.
