Dolomites On-Piste Skiing Safari

Family Dolomites Ski Safari

A winter family vacation that is so much more than “just” a ski trip! Explore the Dolomites on skis, moving from a hotel to a mountain inn and back to a hotel, on groomed, lift-served runs. World-class on- and off-piste terrain, magnificent vistas, three different cultures and cuisines – quite simply the best winter family vacation ever!

Trip Overview

Want your family winter vacation to be more than “just” a ski trip? Then join us in the Dolomites for a Dolomites Ski Safari! On this itinerary, you’ll explore a wide variety of the finest ski resorts of the Dolomiti Superski. From Sesto to Alta Badia, you’ll have 6 full days of skiing to get to know these mountains well. You and your family will ski from resort to resort, aided by ski lifts. No snowshoeing, no skinning – just skiing, pure and simple! And, whether your family includes beginner/intermediate on-piste skiers, advanced off-piste skiers, or both, our professional mountain guides will find the perfect slopes for you.

One of the beauties of skiing in the Dolomites is that you can ski from resort to resort returning to a base camp hotel, or moving from hotel to rifugio. And, on this exciting ski safari, you’ll do both! On one evening you’ll experience the welcoming atmosphere of a rifugio – an alpine mountain inn set high atop the mountains with excellent views. Cozy wood-paneled bedrooms and big fluffy duvets make for a great end to the day! And crossing from region to region  your taste buds will enjoy the unique combination of flavors resulting from the different Italian, Austrian, and Ladin cultures and cuisine found in these valleys.

No day is the same, with pristine valleys and terrains aplenty for your family to explore within the beautiful Dolomite Mountains. And nowhere else in the world can you access such a variety of lift-service skiing terrain covering so much ground – you may never ski the same run twice! The imposing peaks of the Dolomite Mountains provide extraordinary terrain for skiing and snowboarding. With the sun shining an unparalleled 8 days out of 10 in this sunny winter paradise – more than any other range in the Alps! – skiers of all ages will rejoice. Boasting the number one ski resort in the world, and a past Winter Olympics site to boot, the Dolomites are a winter sports paradise for families – beginners and champions alike.

Please note: It is important to us that you get the most out of your Dolomite Mountains trip! Our ski safaris require a minimum ability of intermediate to advanced skiing.

Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugios?
Rifugios – or mountain huts in English – are the classic accommodation for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugios are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.

The Dolomite rifugios are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
