Dolomites On-Piste Skiing Safari

Dolomites Ski Safari Getaway – Group Departure

You have solid skiing skills, and now it’s time to truly experience the majestic Dolomites on skis. Our Ski Safari Getaway is designed for confident intermediate to advanced skiers who feel comfortable on all slopes and enjoy exploring a variety of terrain, while also taking the time for well-earned breaks in rifugios to enjoy a glass of local Lagrein and the finer things in life. This is a high-altitude traverse through Italian, Austrian, and Ladin cultures, led by professional UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guides – the gold standard in mountain safety – and shared with a small group of fellow ski enthusiasts.

This is the Dolomites Ski Safari Getaway Group Departure, designed for confident intermediate to advanced skiers, taking you through the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage peaks of Alta Badia, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and more. With a small group of just six skiers, you’ll explore the iconic Sellaronda and the hidden corners of the Lagazuoi area, led by a professional UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guide who knows the best hidden rifugios for lunch as well as the most scenic routes down.

This journey is tailored for skiers who are confident on the slopes but prefer a steady, enjoyable rhythm over raw speed, and for those who want to finish the day with a glass of local Lagrein and a story to tell. You’ll move seamlessly from valley to valley, enjoying world-class terrain while leaving plenty of time for relaxation and making new friends.

You’ll traverse the expansive Dolomiti Superski area, an impressive network of 12 interconnected resorts boasting 1,200 kilometers (745 miles) of prepared pistes. Experience the legendary Sellaronda Ski Tour, connecting four Dolomite passes and four Ladin valleys, and challenge yourself on the slopes of the majestic Marmolada Glacier, the highest peak in the Dolomites.

Come and discover the art of the Ski Safari, a small group departure that brings together skilled, confident skiers to experience authentic Ladin hospitality in the Dolomite Mountains.

Please note: It is important to us that you get the most out of your Dolomite Mountains trip. Our ski safari experience requires a minimum intermediate to advanced skiing ability and a good level of fitness preparation.

Hotels and chalets are available in the larger villages, while agriturismos (working farms with accommodations similar to B&Bs) are more common in rural areas. And we always make sure you have access to inspired regional cuisine, and the best panoramas you can get in the Dolomites!

Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugios?
Rifugios - or mountain inns in English – are the classic accommodation for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugios are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.

The Dolomite rifugios are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
